Description |
Spectacle case. Handmade. Two oblong pieces of leather, rounded at one end and square at the other. Along the edge, except for the square end, is a strip of thicker leather, which forms the sides of the case. The edges of the outer pieces of leather are nailed into the thicker leather with small nails. We do not know whether there was another piece of leather which formed the rest of the case, but the signs of wear don't suggest one. There are no identifying marks. |
